Setting the Captives Free

Luke 4:16-22

16 So He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up. And as His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read. 17 And He was handed the book of the prophet Isaiah. And when He had opened the book, He found the place where it was written:

18 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me,
Because He has anointed Me
To preach the gospel to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,[j]
To proclaim liberty to the captives
And recovery of sight to the blind,
To set at liberty those who are oppressed;
19 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.”[k]

20 Then He closed the book, and gave it back to the attendant and sat down. And the eyes of all who were in the synagogue were fixed on Him. 21 And He began to say to them, “Today this Scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.” 22 So all bore witness to Him, and marveled at the gracious words which proceeded out of His mouth. And they said, “Is this not Joseph’s son?”

and here is the section in Isaiah in which the passage above is being quoted. I included the whole passage because it is such a beautiful passage. For those of us who believe, we are no longer Gentiles, but sons of God, heirs to his kingdom. So the passage not only applies to the Jews, but also to Christians.

Isaiah 61

The Good News of Salvation

61 “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me,
Because the Lord has anointed Me
To preach good tidings to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives,
And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;
To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord,
And the day of vengeance of our God;
To comfort all who mourn,
To console those who mourn in Zion,
To give them beauty for ashes,
The oil of joy for mourning,
The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;
That they may be called trees of righteousness,
The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.”

And they shall rebuild the old ruins,
They shall raise up the former desolations,
And they shall repair the ruined cities,
The desolations of many generations.
Strangers shall stand and feed your flocks,
And the sons of the foreigner
Shall be your plowmen and your vinedressers.
But you shall be named the priests of the Lord,
They shall call you the servants of our God.
You shall eat the riches of the Gentiles,
And in their glory you shall boast.
Instead of your shame you shall have double honor,
And instead of confusion they shall rejoice in their portion.
Therefore in their land they shall possess double;
Everlasting joy shall be theirs.

“For I, the Lord, love justice;
I hate robbery for burnt offering;
I will direct their work in truth,
And will make with them an everlasting covenant.
Their descendants shall be known among the Gentiles,
And their offspring among the people.
All who see them shall acknowledge them,
That they are the posterity whom the Lord has blessed.”

10 I will greatly rejoice in the Lord,
My soul shall be joyful in my God;
For He has clothed me with the garments of salvation,
He has covered me with the robe of righteousness,
As a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments,
And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.
11 For as the earth brings forth its bud,
As the garden causes the things that are sown in it to spring forth,
So the Lord God will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations.

Why did I start of with these two passages? Because of a vision I had in September 2016 which came to me whilst I was praying at my church’s weekly Friday night prayer meeting. So about three months after I had had the prison camp dream.

In this vision, I was back at the place where the prisoners were being held captive. This time I walked into one of the prison houses, unafraid. The whole time I was praying in tongues (in the Spirit). I walked down the middle and opened the prison door cells, setting people free. I prayed harder, and the roof of the building fell off and the walls came crashing down. This happened to the surrounding prison houses as well. Nobody was hurt (don’t ask me how).

Far off I saw the enemy. He was furious, but he did not have the power to come close to us. I did not fear. I continued to pray and set the people free. As we ran from that place, a thought occurred to me, that there should be a river somewhere here. Very shortly, a river did appear. Then something told me that the people must not only cross the river to escape they must also be baptised. There were hundreds of people. I started baptising each one in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit  before they crossed the river to the other side. The devil was at this time nowhere to be seen.

I believe that the thought about the river and the baptising were guidance coming from the Holy Spirit. I want to stress that we as disciples of Jesus, have been called and annointed to do the things that Jesus mentions in Luke; To preach the gospel to the [spiritually ] poor; to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives [of sin ] and recovery of sight to the [spiritually] blind, To set at liberty (with the truth, the truth shall set you free); those who are oppressed19 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord [The return of our Lord Jesus Christ].

As Christians, the Spirit of the Lord lives IN us, that is the Holy Spirit. And just as the disciples of Jesus were baptised in the Holy Spirit at Pentecost, so too can you. I will post shortly my testimony of when I received the baptism of the Holy Spirit. If you haven’t watched the Youtube link I posted in my second blog post, please do. Here is it again becoming a disciple of Christ-The Last Reformation. The video is also available in German.

Acts 1:4-5, 8 NKJV

And being assembled together with them, He [Jesus] commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, “which,” He said, “you have heard from Me; for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.”

But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me[a] in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

Mark 16:15-18 NKJV

15 And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. 17 And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; 18 they[b] will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

Imprisoned Mothers and their Children

May 2016

This was the second dream I had about prisoners, which I had in the same month as the previous post.

I dreamt I was in a house somewhere. It reminded me of some place in Asia, because there was a lot of wood and bamboo on the ceilings and the walls. The next information I am about to share was knowledge that I received about the house and what was going on in the house without having to move from the spot where I was standing.

I was given the knowledge that I was in a prostitute house. I never saw the prostitutes working though in my dream. I was also given the knowledge that the women were being held captive there. The women were falling pregnant on the job. Those women who were falling pregnant were then kept seperately somewhere else in the house, and when they gave birth to their children, the children would be taken away. The “management” of the house was particularly interested in little boys.

The baby boys would be taken away by the security. “What did they do with them? Where were they being taken to?” I wondered to myself. I was struck with terror just standing there and learning all of this. I understood that these boys would be raised in captivity by the “management” and then used by him for some evil purpose. He was raising an army! I was afraid of the security walking by and seeing me just standing there in the house. I did not receive any information about the baby girls.

I woke up, and immediately started to pray in the Spirit. As I prayed, I was back in the house. I rememeber tip-toeing around and looking for a key to the room where they kept the little babies. The room with the women who had just given birth was open. I remember encouraging the women to run, to escape and take their babies with them. I saw the room where the babies were being held.  In front of the door were two HUGE security guards. I cotinued to look for the key but I really did not have a plan or any idea how I was going to get past those two guards. Why would a nursery have guards stationed there anyways? To keep the mothers away from their children??

Unfortunately I woke up again at that point. I don’t know if those women ever escaped, or if those babies were ever freed. But I continued to pray after I woke up, against the sex-industry, agains human trafficking, I just prayed, but my prayers were more like shooting arrows in all direction. This dream really touched me, I will never forget it. My heart cries out to those mothers, and those babies who never had a chance; from the second they were born, they were handed over to the enemy. Even if they escaped, where would they have gone, how would they have taken care of themselves? Did they have families who would take them in? Just thinking about it, it makes me really, really sad.

I am posting a link below about Christian adoption from the website. Have a read and ponder the points listed in the article for yourself. I don’t know why, but I just felt like including it here in this post.

Adoption: The heart of the Gospel
